2024 Volkswagen Taos vs 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport
Serving Mentor, OH
As the smallest crossover SUV in the 2024 Volkswagen lineup, the Taos has magnetic appeal, spirited performance, and athletic styling. Like the Taos, the midsize Atlas Cross Sport has two rows of seats and is well-appointed and engineered. Which of these engaging crossovers is right for you?
Performance
Over the 2024 Taos SUV’s three trim levels, you will be impressed by the same turbo 1.5-liter, four-cylinder unit. This 158-horsepower engine features an eight-speed auto transmission along with front-wheel drive. However, you can upgrade to all-wheel drive with a seven-speed auto dual-clutch transmission. Under the hood of the 2024 Atlas Cross Sport, a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine generates 269 horsepower. It features an eight-speed auto transmission. The first two Atlas Cross Sport trims come with front-wheel drive, or you can step up to all-wheel drive. The remaining trims have standard all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The Taos has effortless aesthetics with linear accentuation flowing over the sides and a boldly raked rear. The triangular spokes on the wheels add a captivating touch. The front end shows off metallic outlines over the bumper and wide grille. The grille’s upper and lower accents carry over to the large headlights. The 2024 Atlas Cross Sport is a substantially larger vehicle with a sporty profile and solid and horizontal accents from front to rear. The flared and molded fenders are subtly geometric. The nose shows off diamond-shaped LED headlights paired with an LED bar on three sides. This bar crosses over the top of the grille. A cupped-style mesh pattern individualizes the grille.
Features
Both of these Volkswagen crossovers are available with a navigation system, a premium sound system, rear parking sensors, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, ambient cabin lights, leather upholstery, heated front seats, USB ports, wireless smartphone app connections, wireless device charging, auto parking assistance, remote engine star, and others. The Atlas Cross Sport also has heated rear seats, park assist, diamond accent stitching, stainless steel pedals, voice controls, a 360-degree camera, and other gear.
