 What’s New for the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta?

The compact Volkswagen Jetta sedan combines quality with solid styling and capabilities, and it has consistently evolved over the years. While the 2025 Jetta is a mid-generation version, it introduces updates to the interior, exterior and engineering.

While the 2025 Jetta is improved in many areas, the engine is unchanged from the 2024 model year. This is a four-cylinder, turbo 1.5-liter engine that puts out 158 horsepower. The six-speed manual transmission is still offered with the Jetta GLI, but it has been eliminated from the other trims. The standard transmission is now an eight-speed automatic.

The Jetta sedan for 2025 is redesigned with a new front fascia, but it retains its recognizable brand body language. Specifically, the headlights are redesigned with a trio of LED lines running across the top and a bent LED bar underscoring the headlights. This bar crosses through the center of the vehicle, drawing attention to the wide, reshaped grille. The grille and triangular air inlets are also strongly accented. In addition, the pinwheel-spoke wheel design is new. Two new paint colors are introduced as well, and these are Monument Gray and Monterey Blue Pearl. Inside, the 2025 Jetta’s dashboard takes on a new look with a trio of bars accenting the air vents and a new 8-inch display screen in the center stack. The SE trim level also now has several features that were only offered in the SEL trim level last year. These are wireless smartphone app connections, wireless device charging and satellite radio.

Many other aspects of the Jetta are unchanged. These include ambient cabin lights, an 8-inch digital driver’s cluster, a Beats Audio system, VW Car-Net, USB-C ports, a blind-spot warning system with auto emergency braking, a rear cross-traffic alert, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and other equipment.
