 What’s New for the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan?

With its blend of European-inspired styling and comprehensive features throughout, the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is a wise choice for compact crossover SUV enthusiasts. Distinguishing itself with an available third row, a handy addition in a pinch, the Tiguan undergoes a mid-generation update for 2024 with several enhancements. The Tiguan S now boasts additional standard features, including wireless device charging, faux leather over the steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and auto high beams. Meanwhile, the Tiguan SE R-Line and SEL R-Line Black receive subtle updates to their interior and exterior accents.

Apart from these updates, the 2024 Tiguan remains similar to its 2023 predecessor. The exterior is characterized by clean, horizontal lines spanning the wide grille and flowing over the sides. The grille seamlessly integrates with innovative, double-scooped LED headlights. The front bumper adds a sporty touch with barbell-style flares and metallic accents on the flanks. Keyless entry, heated side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and 17-inch or larger alloy wheels are standard across all trims. Some trims may also feature a power liftgate, roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive headlights, and power-folding side mirrors.

Powering the 2024 Tiguan lineup is a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gas engine generating 184 horsepower. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Lower trims offer standard front-wheel drive with an optional upgrade to all-wheel drive. The SEL R-Line includes standard all-wheel drive and hill descent control.

Opting for the base S trim level grants you Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cloth upholstery, a push-button ignition, an auto-dimming rear mirror, heated front seats, and a 6.5-inch infotainment system screen. Safety features at this trim level include lane-keeping assist, blind-spot intervention, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, and a rear cross-traffic detection system. Higher trim levels may offer additional features like USB ports, an 8-inch or 10.25-inch touch display screen, voice controls, synthetic or genuine leather upholstery, automated parking, driver’s memory controls, a Fender sound system, a 360-degree camera system, a heated steering wheel, and more.
