2013 VW CC Review

The Volkswagen CC has received numerous updates for the 2013 model year. It now has a much stronger resemblance to its siblings, the Passat and the Jetta, and it has gained some ground in the practicality department with the addition of a three-occupant rear seat. The 2013 CC is in dealerships now, and from the looks of it, the Nissan Maxima, Acura TSX and Buick Regal have some stiff competition indeed.

On the outside, the 2013 CC retains its coupe-like styling, but the front and rear ends have been extensively redesigned. Additions for this year include new enclosures for the HID headlights, optional LED daytime running lights, and a more angular front bumper and grille. In the rear, rectangular LED taillights serve to emphasize the CC’s low, wide stance, as do the new 17″ and 18″ alloy wheels.

2013 VW GTI 260 hp Review

It truly is a testament to the Volkswagen Golf that they have gone through six generations. The VW Golf is a very popular car for a variety of reasons. It is economical. It is affordable and it looks incredibly stylish. For drivers that wanted to kick it up a notch…the VW GTI is the perfect solution. The 2012 is sleek. It has a 2.0L TSI®, 16-valve, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with intercooler; 200 hp, 207 lbs/ft of torque. But sometimes 200 horses running are simply not enough.

Enter in the seventh generation Volkswagen Golf 2013 GTI 260 HP burning under the hood. To match that impressive engine capability, VW introduced the 2013 GTI 260 HP with a unique and innovative steering assembly. It is a VAQ electronically controlled front differential. It makes sense that while increasing horsepower, VW wants the GTI’s handling ability to be on edge as well. To put the 2013 GTI 260 HP with the VAQ differential into comparison with other cars with standard differentials…VW took it to the Nürburgring track. The difference: eight seconds. That is phenomenal and very impressive. It translates, into layman’s terms, as a very sporty, small car with superior handling ability.

2014 VW Microbus Rendered

If the image of a VW minibus brings to mind flower stickers adorning the side panels and Canned Heat emanating from the FM radio, then you’re in for a sweet surprise. The 2014 Volkswagen microbus, rendered under the direction of VW’s design chief Hartmut Warkuss (later succeeded by Walter de’Silva), is a classic concept reimagined for the 21st century – a road-worthy vehicle that retains the original VW’s countercultural charm.

With a projected debut in fall 2013, the VW microbus is already generating substantial buzz. Based on a Touran-inspired platform, the car will share Volkswagen’s front-wheel-drive engine used by Golf and Jetta; the powertrain is based on four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines; a gas/electric hybrid option may join the lineup.

VW Tiguan: The New Face of Turbo

There is no doubt that Volkswagen has been turning heads. Three of Volkswagens’ “flagships” in the past couple of years has been the practical Jetta, the sporty GTI and the SUV Toureg. But there is a new face in the crowd that manages to combine all three of these into one dynamic package: the Tiguan Turbo.

The Tiguan Turbo is the middle child, so to speak, of the GTI and the Toureg. It has the dependability of an all terrain vehicle and the sporty, pluck of a sleek car made for speed. That makes it ideal for many that may have been considering the Subaru Forrester or the Mazda 5. In fact many would say that the three are interchangeable but there are some distinct differences that give the Tiguan a distinct advantage. It is best to break it down into three categories: exterior, engine and interior.
