The German Giant Volkswagen automobile manufacturer has struck it again in their outstanding electric car innovation .The 2013 Volkswagen eGolf which is a fully electrified version of Volkswagen Golf. Though it is not in the market, the car is at its advanced stage of trial with 500 cars on the road. The company plans to release it into the market in the year late 2013 as 2014 model.

Volkswagen 2013 eGolf Special features.

Taking a keen look at the eGolf, it is notable that it highly resembles its gasoline counterpart in many ways except the driveline. Volkswagen Company did not just save money and time by taking this resembling approach in manufacturing eGolf, but it also helped them in developing it to a more efficient electric vehicle.

The car uses a 26.5 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that is plugged to an outlet for recharge as its energy source. A part from that, it can recharge through regenerative braking. This battery packs is able to move the Volkswagen eGolf for about 93 mile range.

As it commences to move, it glides forward quietly attaining a high speed of 87-mph .Furthermore; it accelerates at 0-60mph within 11.6-seconds.

eGolf is also front wheel driven. It has power consumption screen for the head unit with power gauges put into the instrument cluster. One of them is analogue gauge that clearly shows the remaining mile range. eGolf has drive mode button placed close to the shifter.

A button in front of the shifter gives you an option to choose which energy consumption mode you would like your car to operate on .one of them is Range Mode which allows the car to reduce its all the energy consuming programs hence maximizing the range .The other option is Eco mode .In Eco mode, you will be able to enjoy all the comforts that the car comes with including air conditioning but reducing your car range.

The Volkswagen CC has received numerous updates for the 2013 model year. It now has a much stronger resemblance to its siblings, the Passat and the Jetta, and it has gained some ground in the practicality department with the addition of a three-occupant rear seat. The 2013 CC is in dealerships now, and from the looks of it, the Nissan Maxima, Acura TSX and Buick Regal have some stiff competition indeed.

On the outside, the 2013 CC retains its coupe-like styling, but the front and rear ends have been extensively redesigned. Additions for this year include new enclosures for the HID headlights, optional LED daytime running lights, and a more angular front bumper and grille. In the rear, rectangular LED taillights serve to emphasize the CC’s low, wide stance, as do the new 17″ and 18″ alloy wheels.

Later this year, the R-Line version of the 2013 CC will go on sale, with a number of new exterior features such as blacked-out taillights and sport bumpers. Additional features include:

Rain-sensing windshield wipers

Dual exhaust tips

Adaptive headlights (optional)

Power moonroof (optional)

Headlight washers (optional)

On the inside, the biggest difference in the 2013 CC is its seating layout, which is much more family-friendly. Now that the back seat holds three, parents of small children can easily put a safety seat in the middle position. Standard features include a multi-functional steering wheel, sport seating, adjustable heated front seats, faux leather upholstery, a touch-screen CD changer, and Bluetooth and iPod connectivity. Other interior features include:

Ventilated front seating

Driver’s seat memory feature (optional)

Driver’s seat massage (optional)

Dynaudio premium stereo system (optional)

Navigation system (optional)

Aluminum trim (optional)

Ambient lighting (optional)

Power rear sun shade (optional)

Under the hood, the 2013 CC has much the same drivetrain options as last year’s model. The 200hp, 2.0L four cylinder engine comes standard, and the 280hp, 3.6L V6 is an available option. Other mechanical options include:

Six-speed manual or dual clutch automatic (on the 2.0L only)

Six-speed automatic (V6 only)

Four cylinder engines can get the XDS limited slip differential; this uses sensors to transfer torque to the most stable wheels in the event of wheel slippage

All-wheel or front-wheel drive

Standard safety features on the 2013 CC include antilock brakes, electronic stability control, and side impact/side curtain airbags for the front and rear seats. The CC also has an available backup camera and parking sensors.

It truly is a testament to the Volkswagen Golf that they have gone through six generations. The VW Golf is a very popular car for a variety of reasons. It is economical. It is affordable and it looks incredibly stylish. For drivers that wanted to kick it up a notch…the VW GTI is the perfect solution. The 2012 is sleek. It has a 2.0L TSI®, 16-valve, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with intercooler; 200 hp, 207 lbs/ft of torque. But sometimes 200 horses running are simply not enough.

Enter in the seventh generation Volkswagen Golf 2013 GTI 260 HP burning under the hood. To match that impressive engine capability, VW introduced the 2013 GTI 260 HP with a unique and innovative steering assembly. It is a VAQ electronically controlled front differential. It makes sense that while increasing horsepower, VW wants the GTI’s handling ability to be on edge as well. To put the 2013 GTI 260 HP with the VAQ differential into comparison with other cars with standard differentials…VW took it to the Nürburgring track. The difference: eight seconds. That is phenomenal and very impressive. It translates, into layman’s terms, as a very sporty, small car with superior handling ability.

Unfortunately fans are going to have to wait just a bit longer to get a sneak peak at the 2013 FTI 260 HP and get the full scoop on looks, interior and the new NVIDIA powered modular infotainment system. It is set to debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Show. The good news is that there are rumors that with the costs of the parts in the 2013 GTI 260 HP being significantly reduced…the 2013 GTI 260 HP will be less expensive than current models. The VW community and fans are eagerly awaiting for its debut.

If the image of a VW minibus brings to mind flower stickers adorning the side panels and Canned Heat emanating from the FM radio, then you’re in for a sweet surprise. The 2014 Volkswagen microbus, rendered under the direction of VW’s design chief Hartmut Warkuss (later succeeded by Walter de’Silva), is a classic concept reimagined for the 21st century – a road-worthy vehicle that retains the original VW’s countercultural charm.

With a projected debut in fall 2013, the VW microbus is already generating substantial buzz. Based on a Touran-inspired platform, the car will share Volkswagen’s front-wheel-drive engine used by Golf and Jetta; the powertrain is based on four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines; a gas/electric hybrid option may join the lineup.

Return of the “love bus”
The boxy shape and subtly curved windshield will evoke fond Baby Boomer memories, but the 2014 microbus is distinguished by touches for today’s driver. Though the interior details are still under tight wraps, some analysts predict gauges and controls surrounding the steering wheel. The vehicle may also sport Apple iPad controls for navigation and climate control, while monitors throughout the interior facilitate the entertainment. And in a nod to the “love bus” of the Woodstock era, a pair of bench seats folds back into a makeshift bed.

A version of the VW bus is currently being sold in Brazil under the name Kombi; by the time the vehicle rolls into the U.S., it will replace the current production bus, the Chrysler-sourced Routan. For 2014, Volkswagen is determined to make the microbus a true VW inside and out.

There is no doubt that Volkswagen has been turning heads. Three of Volkswagens’ “flagships” in the past couple of years has been the practical Jetta, the sporty GTI and the SUV Toureg. But there is a new face in the crowd that manages to combine all three of these into one dynamic package: the Tiguan Turbo.

The Tiguan Turbo is the middle child, so to speak, of the GTI and the Toureg. It has the dependability of an all terrain vehicle and the sporty, pluck of a sleek car made for speed. That makes it ideal for many that may have been considering the Subaru Forrester or the Mazda 5. In fact many would say that the three are interchangeable but there are some distinct differences that give the Tiguan a distinct advantage. It is best to break it down into three categories: exterior, engine and interior.

Exterior:

The Tiguan is considered a mid-size SUV crossover. It comes equipped with 19′ wheels, chrome grill and very versatile roof rails. The rails are an extreme advantage when considering cargo and should never be overlooked. The one thing you will definitely overlook with the Tiguan Turbo is the seams. The laser-welded seams give the Tiguan an almost seamless look. As far as headlights go you have the choice between standard halogen or the bi-xenons.

Engine:

The Tiguan Turbo comes with a standard 200 hp engine giving it a very sporty feel and throttle when you hit the accelerator. The TSI engine is the ONLY turbocharged engine that comes standard in its class. With a four-cylinder, 200lb torque that comes in a six speed transmission, you can haul or tow just about anything. The best part is the 26 miles per gallon the Tiguan Turbo can give you thus saving money on gas.

Interior:

Volkswagen definitely upheld its standard to excellence with the Tiguan Turbo’s leather interior. The stitching is well manufactured and is enhanced by the dashboard and its aluminum inserts. It comes with touch screen sound, navigation, heated seats and over 56 cubic feet of cargo space.

All in all the Tiguan Turbo is definitely a force to be reckoned. It is a true beacon of German craftsmanship. For those that want a sporty ride but need the SUV storage and hauling capacity, the Tiguan is definitely a winner. Take it for a test drive and see why so many are choosing it.

Every year the Kelley Blue Book compiles its top ten list of the best family cars of the year, and for 2012 the winner is the Volkswagen Passat. Checking all the relevant boxes, the 2012 Passat family car is a mid-size sedan that has been fully redesigned since the 2010 model. Boasting greater room, new engine options and a price reduction, the Passat family car fits the household budgets of the tough economic times in which we live.

One of the chief reasons that the 2012 Passat family car won the KBB best award is, of course, its value for money. Designed in Germany and built in the U.S., the Passat is a well made vehicle that is reliable and that offers a wide range of upscale features. At a base price of just $19,995, it is excellent value for the money, and for those looking for more luxury and features a variety of more opulent trim levels are available. Being a top family car, it is also important to be economic in the fuel department and the Passat family car is just that.

The gas-engined models of the 2012 Passat with their 2.5-liter engines offer 22 miles to the gallon in the city and 32 mpg on the open highway. A more powerful 3.6-liter V6 has slightly lower fuel economy, while a new diesel 2.0-liter offers impressive 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.

Family safety is also of importance to the KBB award committee when choosing their top family car and the Passat delivers in this category. A full compliment of safety features including extensive airbag coverage, ABS, intelligent crash response and traction control make it a great family car. The Passat family car also performed well in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, securing top marks in front, side and roof strength tests.

The Passat family car is an obvious choice for the KBB award, performing well in all aspects. A vast improvement on the previous model, it is the ideal size for a family car, it’s safe, economic and can still be a fun drive. As part of the KBB’s selection process they take into consideration customer opinion, and with 7.7 out of 10, the Passat family car seems just as popular with the customers as with the experts.

The others are the SE, SEL and the SEL premium. Those car-shoppers expecting the upscale interior and precision suspension of the stereotypical German car may be disappointed as the Routan, despite the VW badge, is not a German car at all. The 2012 VW Routan is actually built by Chrysler. In fact, it is almost identical to the Town & Country but for a few minor details on the rear end and the design of the grille.

Routan Interior
Among the features of the basic S trim are keyless entry, third-row folding seats, and a sound system with six speakers. The mid-level SE gets Leatherette upholstery, heated seats and Bluetooth, while the upscale SEL has leather upholstery, push-button ignition along with second and third row video screens. Previous versions of the Routan were notable for being way ahead of the competition when it came to the interior design, but Chrysler has updated its minivan interiors and has all but caught up to the 2012 VW Routan. Like other Chrysler vehicles, the third-row seats fold flat into the floor providing lots of room for cargo. The Routan has 83 cubic feet of space behind the second row. The SEL Premium gets a 560 watt sound system and a blind spot detection system.

Exterior
The basic trim level for the 2012 VW Routan gets 16 inch steel wheels while the other trims get 17-inch alloy wheels with the SEL getting its own unique design. The SE gets automatic headlights and power sliding doors, while the SEL gets a lot of chrome trim, a sunroof, and rain-sensing wipers. Both SEL and SEL Premium get a power liftgate.

Engine
The 2012 VW Routan is powered by a Chrysler engine, this one is a 3.6L V6 that gives its driver 283 horses. The Routan’s transmission is a six-speed automatic. When it comes to gas mileage, it gives 17mpg in the city and 25 on the highway.

Handling
The 2012 VW Routan has a firm suspension allowing for more responsiveness. On those counts, the vehicle is above average. The six-speed automatic shifts quickly and therefore the handling overall is fairly tight for a minivan. The engine is relatively powerful, but perhaps not as smooth-sounding as some other vehicles in the same class.

The 2012 VW Jetta SportWagen is a five passenger wagon, which is offered in four basic trim levels and a single trim diesel engine version. It is a small, sporty SUV-like vehicle with luxury spacious interior and impressive fuel economy. A versatile vehicle, its unique mix of performance and practicality make it a viable alternative to an array of other car types.

All four gas engine trim levels in the 2012 VW Jetta SportWagen come with a 2.5-liter DOHC inline-5, which produces 170 horsepower and 177 ft-lbs of torque. This, combined with the car’s size and light weight, make a racy small car. The S trim version comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission and an optional six-speed automatic, which itself comes as standard for the SE trims. Running on regular unleaded with a 14.5 gallon tank, fuel economy starts at 24 miles per gallon in the city and reaches 33 mpg on the open highway.

The diesel version of the 2012 VW Jetta SportWagen comes with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel SOHC inline-4 engine capable of 140 hp and 236 ft-lbs of torque. It is a little less powerful than the gas engine models, but has smoother, more rapid acceleration. Transmission as standard for the diesel version is six-speed manual with a six-speed automated manual system known as DSG available as an option. The fuel economy for the diesel version of the 2012 VW Jetta SportWagen is extremely impressive, offering 30 mpg in the city and up to 42 mpg on the highway.

The 2012 VW Jetta Sportwagen offers a refined, comfortable ride with a top quality interior. Cabin comfort space is very good in the front but a little more compact in the rear seats. Its cargo carrying space offers 32.8 cubic feet with the rear seats up and an impressive 66.9 cubic feet with them down. Steering is precise as is the handling, although the suspension makes enthusiastic driving a little more exciting.

It is not the cheapest option on the market, but for fuel economy alone it is worth the investment. The 2012 VW Jetta Sportwagen stacks up against larger SUVs, Crossovers and its diesel trim gives hybrid-like fuel economy. This makes it a car that can adapt to its owners needs by being both practical and entertaining to drive.
